5 DAYS IN ATHENS & SANTORINI
Day 1 | Athens Arrival
Upon arrival at Athens international airport, a private transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel in central Athens. Check in and get comfortable, your tasty tour of Greece has begun! Enjoy a welcome dinner at a specially selected restaurant & menu to introduce you to Greek cuisine and wine.
Day 2 | Visit Local Winery
Today is your first visit to an Athenian winery. Located just 30 minutes outside of Athens, the grape variety of ‘Savvatiano’ grows in abundance in the area of Markopoulo. Sample different types of local wine combined with a charcuterie board and a light lunch. Return to Athens for some free time to shop in the most beautiful and ancient ‘neighbourhood of the gods’. Dinner on your own with recommendations.
Day 3 | Fly To Santorini
In the morning, private transfer to Athens airport for your one hour flight to Santorini. Upon arrival, meet your guide and begin your full day tour of the island. Visit the archaeological site of Akrotiri, the traditional town of Megalochori and the red beach, before settling down in a winery for your first Santorini wine tasting experience.
Wine has been made on the island in a completely unique way for thousands of years, due to the volcanic terrain. Learn all about the way local producers nurture the wines and make this excellent wine by walking through the vineyard. Afterwards, enjoy your tasting with a meal specially selected with locally grown products. Following your tour, your private transfer will take you to your hotel in order to check in and enjoy the evening free.
Day 4 | Winery & Catamaran Tour
Today we will visit our second winery in Santorini and sample more indigenous varieties with some accompaniments. The variety of ‘Assyrtiko’ put Greek wines on the map, but there is now much more than this to try, such as the red ‘Mavrotragano’ or the lesser know ‘Aidani’ white variety.
Following the tasting, transfer to the port to embark on one of the most popular activities – a catamaran tour of the island! View the spectacular island from below and swim in the volcanic waters of ‘Palia Kameni’ before your BBQ meal on board. The day finishes with you admiring the world famous sunset from the boat before returning to the port. Private transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 5 | Departure
Following your final breakfast at the hotel, check out of your hotel and transfer to Santorini airport for your departure flight home. We hope the memories and tastes of Greece bring you back once more!
