Day 1 | Arrival In Kefalonia
Upon arrival in Kefalonia, transfer to your hotel for some time to relax and recuperate from your travels. In the evening, a special welcome dinner awaits you for your first introduction to Greek food and wine!
Day 2 | The Highlights Of Kefalonia
Today we start our tour with a sacred Greek temple dedicated to the Greek god ‘Pan and the nymphs’ – which is in fact a cave with beautiful crystal blue waters. We enter the cave by small boats and admire the waters and the remarkable formations of stalactites and stalagmites. Then we move onto the cosmopolitan town of Fiskardo, famous for the architecture of the houses and the beautiful port. In picturesque Assos, visit the castle and stop for a traditional Mediterranean lunch with wine pairing. On the way back to the hotel, our final stop is at the breathtaking ‘Myrto’ beach for some photos or a dip (time pending) as well as a traditional olive press, for some souvenir shopping of authentic Kefalonian products.
Day 3 | Private Boat Tour
Onboard a private luxury yacht, today you can experience the crystal waters of Kefalonia away from crowded beaches towards unknown coves and rocky uninhabited islets. Enjoy a barbeque on the beach with a wine pairing, before returning to our boat and back to the hotel.
Day 4 | Castle / Monastery Visit, Winery, Fishing Village
Before we commence with our wine drinking today, we visit some cultural sites such as the famous castle of Saint George, with beautiful views from the top, as well as Saint Gerasimos monastery, with traditional Kefalonian architecture. Close to the monastery, we find Gentilini winery, who are experts in cultivating the local grape variety of ‘Robola’ and making it into the delicious white wine it is today. Enjoy a tasting before we return to the hotel for some free time before dinner.
Day 5 | Cruise To The Island Of Odysseus
Today we travel to the island of Odysseus – eponymous hero of ‘the Odyssey’, an epic which entails his travels back home to Ithaca from the Trojan war, taking more than 10 years to complete the journey. In slightly faster fashion, our boat will take us the short trip across the Ionian Sea to the quaint island of Ithaca, where we will visit small bays and dine in a local restaurant for lunch. Return to Kefalonia for some free time, before our farewell dinner at the hotel.
Day 6 | Departure
Check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for your departure flight back home. We hope that tales of the Odyssey and captivating Ionian islands bring you back to Greece once more!
